Nothing can bring more joy than the humble pakoda on a rainy day. All you got to do is make a batter - besan, baking powder and salt. You can be imaginative and add garlic or coriander to the batter as well as pepper.
Next go and get anything that suits your fancy or is available at home. For the vegetarians it could be onions, potatoes, mushrooms, brinjals and cheese. For non-vegetarians it could be chicken, prawns, eggs, squids, fish.
Remember, pakodas are deep fried and so you shouldnt consume too much. Also, a sprinkling of rock salt makes it even more delectable. Go on and enjoy a rainy day.
Unfortunately, the rains have left Mumbai but I am waiting if they return on a weekend to try out pakodas et al
